Bugfix release 1.1 for Addressbook is now available from the WP plugin repository. I’ll get to the outstanding feature requests soon, I promise (feel free to hassle me here though — and don’t email me, it doesn’t work).

This is a nice plug-in. I have lot of addresses stored in excel worksheet. Is it possible to import them?

@Danny: I am thinking of incorporating import/export functionality, but haven’t done so yet; probably the easiest way is to use something like phpMyAdmin‘s CSV-import feature.
@fabs: Fantastic! Yes, indeed, I shall help you be able to translate it! Of course.
First of all, you need to get the latest Portable Object Template (
.pot) file:addressbook.pot. See Translating WordPress on the Codex for information on what to do with this file (basically, you create a.pofile in your language, and then a.mofile from that, but read the real documentation for details).Let me know if I can of any greater help.

Hi
A question about output (I feel like I’m missing something really obvious).
How/Can I show just one/specific address rather than the whole list of addresses?

Hi, well I’ve searched everywhere for this type of functionality – well done for making it happen. Everything seems to be working so far in 2.5.1 – so congrats again!
Functionality requests:
1. To be able to filter output by switches or parameters in you the tag or admin – cforms does a great job, but does not need to be as fancy.
2. To be able to sort by post code, zip or whatever to cluster and hopefully categorise – so all addresses in say Cambarra, Sydney or wherever can be easily presented or excluded.
3. To push my luck a bit – a few ready made templates as I’ve seen how cleverly you’ve done the formatting in the php file.
Thanks, I guess your off travelling soon or ? Can you let us know your own development plans.
All the best

Hi again, apart from apologising for all my typos in the last post (sometimes you wish you can bring them back)! Would it be possible to have a choice of images rather than just a gravatar?
On the template front maybe we can all submit our styles and that way people can cut ‘n paste?
Thanks for a cool application

I’m attempting to use your Addressbook 1.1 plugin for WordPress 2.6.1. So far it’s awesome! I just had one question. How does the gravatar pictures work? I’ve never used gravatars and now, the address page has a bunch of broken image links. Please email me back if you can. Thanks!

I like your widget, but have a couple of improvements I’d like to discuss paying you to develop as I am looking for a touch more functionality.
I was hoping for an import/export (at least export) feature, a search interface (preferably by field), and a few more fields added on.
Please drop me an email if you’re interested.
Thank you,
Tom

Righto, time for me to get cracking I think… I’ve got things all ready to extend with new features (well, sort of) as of version 1.1.3; see that post for more. :-)
