I’ve just put up a little script I’ve been playing with that creates family trees from werelate.org data, using GraphViz. Here’s what my tree is currently looking like (click for a clickable SVG, if you’re using a good browser):

I like to go for rambling, aimless walks, though bush or suburbs, and sometimes I post here the words and pictures (and GPS traces) that I collect on these walks.

Miscellaneous
Everything else.

Open content
I edit on various Wikimedia projects and other wikis, and occasionally post here about whatever I'm working on. I am usually [[User:Samwilson]] on all projects.

Programming
I am a computer programmer by trade, working for a small company in South Fremantle. I contribute to a few little open source projects (plugins for WordPress, Dokuwiki, a few scripts for interacting with wikis around the place, etc.). I write about these things here when I can, working things out, announcing updates, musing on how things ought to be done...

Reading
'Reading' in the broad sense, but usually to do with texts that are made of text.

Status updates
Tweets, dents, Facebook statuses... from wherever they come, this category is the final and complete archive of them all.

woodworking
This blog began as a way for me to document my workshop practice when I was at the ANU school of art in Canberra. Now my life has moved away from working at the bench, but I still post about the small projects that I do get to work on, and the joy that I find in working wood by hand.
