test

So like you said, commenting is pretty much just editing the post, right? Or did I misunderstand how to leave a comment? Definitely want to do some digging and see if there's a way for someone to leave a comment on an entry without having access to edit my entry. Hrm... Shawndouglas (talk) 01:00, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
@Shawndouglas: Not quite: the {{blog post comments}} template is just editing the talk page, which is then transcluded to the bottom of the main page. I'm not convinced it's the best way to do it thought! Welcome (talk) 01:39, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
Comments on this blog post+ Add a comment

This is me testing the comments, after adding the template. Shawndouglas (talk) 01:41, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Yeah this is the idea; do you think it's workable? Welcome (talk) 01:42, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
I do! I admittedly don't know much about making more granular permissions in MediaWiki. I wonder if you could make a special user group in User group rights so that a logged in user could only access the functions of the Blog post comments template. I have much to learn still. Oh, and it would be nice to redirect back to the page commented on after "Save changes" instead of taking you to the Talk page of the post. Shawndouglas (talk) 01:49, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
It'd be possible to restrict editing to talk pages only. See mw:Manual:$wgNamespaceProtection. And yeah, the redirect back thing is possible I think; it just has to be added to the links in the template. Although maybe a PageForms form would be a better way to make a comment. Also, I don't know jack about Lua coding, but I think your Chronology module has some sort of formatting issue for dates? I looked and found an example of the same error, where an individual "Removed Unicode Character 'LEFT-TO-RIGHT MARK' (U+200E) from dates"? It looks like the dates were formatted "12 December 2009" instead of "2009-12-12"? Don't know if there's a similar problem with your module and how it formats dates. Or maybe since it only throws on the documentation page and not on your actual blog posts, you're ignoring it. Shawndouglas (talk) 03:40, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
